After Death
After Irving died, he was temporarily buried on December 31, 1942 in the Casablanca European Cemetery. His mother chose for Irving to be interred at an American overseas cemetery, and his bones were disinterred from the Casablanca European Cemetery on January 8th, 1948. His family would receive a flag for his death on January 25th, 1949. His mother also received his personal effects, some of which are a damaged mirror, blitz clothing, a ditty bag, a wallet, and a tobacco pouch.
The 30th Infantry Regiment would also go on to be part of the “JOSS” Force in Operation Husky, the Allied Invasion of Sicily.
